Woombye Phebalium is an aromatic native shrub renowned for its clusters of cream or pink star-like flowers and distinctive silvery-backed foliage that creates beautiful displays in Australian gardens. This attractive species produces conspicuous clusters of up to 10 small five-petaled flowers with yellow stamens often offset to one side, blooming in late winter and spring while attracting native bees and butterflies. The oblong to elliptical leaves up to 50mm long are green above and silvery underneath, creating attractive evergreen foliage with very aromatic properties. Hardy once established, it thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade positions with good adaptability. Perfect for heath gardens, native plantings, and areas where aromatic native shrubs with reliable flowering create fragrant landscape displays.
Phebalium woombye naturally occurs in heath and open forest from the north coast of New South Wales to southeastern Queensland, thriving in well-drained soils with good drainage and full sun to partial shade exposure in temperate to subtropical climates.
