Isotoma axillaris

Common Name

Rock Isotome

Description

Low-growing perennial with soft green foliage and star-shaped blue to mauve flowers produced over an extended period from spring to autumn. Readily self-seeds in gardens and containers, and responds well to hard pruning to maintain a compact habit and encourage fresh growth. Performs best in well-drained soils with consistent moisture through the warmer months, in full sun or part shade. Wash hands after handling, as the sap can irritate the eyes.
