Native Plants are Coming Home to Warrandyte
Kuranga is growing, and is now proud to call Warrandyte it’s second home.
Kuranga Native Nursery is a family-owned and operated business with over 40 years of experience in growing and retailing Australian native plants. In April 2026 the former Beasley’s Nursery has been acquired, and now reimagined as an additional site to Mount Evelyn – Kuranga Warrandyte.
At Kuranga we are passionate about their vital role in healthy ecosystems and creating beautiful natural landscapes. Our mission is to help create natural gardens that support birds, insects, and wildlife, backed by our commitment to providing practical, friendly, and knowledgeable advice.
We understand the significance of the Beasley’s Nursery site, which Kuranga Native Nursery has now acquired. The Beasley’s Family has been an integral part of the community for generations, and we wish to acknowledge their enduring legacy they have built over many years and where countless gardening journeys began.
We know that change can be unsettling, especially when a beloved business transitions. Our hope is that this new chapter will infuse the well-known site with fresh life.
This project is personal to us, Ben is a Warrandyte local, having grown up here and attended Warrandyte Primary School, and his immediate family still resides in the area. Returning to Warrandyte to grow Kuranga’s next chapter truly feels like coming home, and we are committed to being a genuine, long-term part of this community.
Kuranga Warrandyte is a destination for all who love plants, nature, and the surrounding landscape whether you are an experienced gardener or just beginning your journey.
After eight weeks of hard yakka breathing new life into the site, our first stage of construction is now complete, and we are proud to announce that we are now open.
A new fernery & bathrooms are now in the planning stage for works to commence in 2027, and the cafe has re-opened as Manna Gum Cafe, which will undergo further additional works to continue to elevate this beautiful space.
We look forward to sharing our progress and welcoming you to Kuranga’s future home at this special site.
