Lechenaultia ‘Rhapsody’ is a low, spreading to mounding shrub with fine, soft green foliage and a delicate, cascading habit. Masses of large, fan-shaped flowers appear from late winter through spring, displaying rich purple-blue tones with darker markings. Lechenaultia biloba × formosa ‘Rhapsody’ is a garden hybrid derived from species native to the south-west of Western Australia, where they grow in sandy, free-draining soils. It performs best in a sunny, open position with excellent drainage and is particularly well suited to containers and sandy rockeries. Avoid overhead watering and keep the foliage as dry as possible to reduce the risk of grey mould and other fungal issues. Light pruning after flowering will help maintain a compact, tidy shape and encourage fresh growth.
