Thin lightly-foliaged climber with red stems and reddish green leaves; showy open-petalled flowers are produced from spring to summer. Flowers typically yellow; a form with cream flowers is also available. Can also be used as a very effective trailer if desired.
Hibbertia dentata is a widespread species of eastern Australia, occurring from the Sunshine Coast hinterland of south-east Queensland through the ranges and coastal districts of New South Wales to eastern Victoria. It is typically found in open forest, woodland and heathland, where it grows in well-drained sandy or loamy soils. Adaptable and hardy, it thrives in a range of conditions from sheltered forest margins to exposed sites.
