Description
Lasiopetalum floribundum is a dense, rounded to spreading shrub. It has soft, oval shaped, green leaves with a fine covering of hairs, giving the foliage a slightly velvety texture. Masses of small, star-shaped pink flowers appear from winter through spring. Its adaptability makes it ideal for understorey plantings, shaded garden areas, informal screens and feature planting.

Habitat
Lasiopetalum floribundum is native to the south-west of Western Australia, where it grows in heath and open woodland on sandy or gravelly, well-drained soils. It is adaptable to positions from full sun to dappled shade and performs particularly well beneath the light canopy of trees, making it an excellent choice for understorey plantings. Once established it is reasonably drought tolerant and benefits from well-drained soil and occasional deep watering during extended dry periods. It tolerates light frost and responds well to light pruning after flowering to maintain a dense, tidy habit.
