Description

Low, spreading shrub with arching, layered branches and small, oval to heart-shaped leaves. Produces clusters of deep purple to violet flowers on older wood, mainly in spring. Forms a dense groundcover and responds well to pruning to maintain a compact habit. Suited to full sun or part shade and a range of well-drained soils, including sandy and clay soils; tolerates dry conditions once established.

Habitat

Occurs in south-western Western Australia from the south coast inland to the Stirling Range, in shrubland and woodland on sandy or clayey soils over limestone or laterite, including low ridges, undulating terrain and seasonally wet sites.
