Description

A highly ornamental and adaptable small to medium-sized tree, Eucalyptus leucoxylon is valued for its smooth, mottled bark in tones of cream, yellow and blue-grey. Narrow, glossy green leaves form an attractive open canopy. Abundant clusters of nectar-rich flowers appear from autumn through to spring, in shades ranging from white and cream to pink and red, attracting birds, bees and other pollinators. Hardy and reliable, it makes an excellent feature tree, street tree or habitat planting in a wide range of landscapes.

Naturally occurring across south-eastern South Australia and Victoria, Eucalyptus leucoxylon grows in open woodland on plains and foothills. It is adaptable to a variety of well-drained soil types including loam, clay and sandy soils, and performs best in full sun. Drought tolerant once established, it is well suited to temperate climates and withstands heat, wind and moderate frost.
