Extremely valuable for erosion control and wetland restoration, this adaptable tree thrives in waterlogged soils where other species fail. The nitrogen-fixing root system improves soil quality, making it an excellent pioneer species for rehabilitation projects. Birds love the seeds from the cones, while the dense foliage provides excellent nesting sites.
