Alyogyne huegelii is native to south-western Australia, where it grows in open woodlands and shrublands with a Mediterranean climate of wet winters and dry summers. It thrives in full sun and well-drained sandy or sandy-loam soils, and is drought-tolerant once established, making it well suited to water-wise landscapes.
