Correa lawrenceana is a variable species with several subspecies and forms varying in leaf shape, growth habit and flower colours ranging from cream and green to pink and red. It forms a dense, upright shrub with tubular flowers appearing mainly from winter to spring. Highly attractive to birds, it is an excellent screening plant for shaded and semi-shaded positions.
Correa lawrenceana naturally occurs in mountainous regions and cool temperate forests of Victoria, Tasmania, and New South Wales, where it grows in shady, moist, well-drained soils at higher elevations. It is frost tolerant and, once established, tolerates drier conditions.
