A compact, wiry shrub native to southeastern Australia, often found in grasslands and open woodlands. Cryptandra amara produces clusters of small, white tubular flowers from winter to spring, attracting tiny pollinators. Its slender form gives it a delicate appearance. Tolerant of frost and drought once established. Prune lightly after flowering to encourage density.
Cryptandra amara naturally occurs in southeastern Australia, thriving in grasslands and open woodlands with well-drained soils and full sun to part shade exposure in temperate climates with excellent frost and drought tolerance.
