Botanical Name

Guichenotia macrantha

Description

Guichenotia macrantha ‘Large Flowered’, commonly known as Large-flowered Guichenotia, is a striking small shrub native to the south-west of Western Australia. It typically grows 1 to 1.5 metres high and wide, with soft grey-green foliage covered in fine hairs, giving it a silvery appearance. From late winter into spring, it produces masses of large, bell-shaped flowers in mauve to pink shades, each with a papery texture and darker central ring. These blooms are long-lasting and create a stunning display against the foliage. Best grown in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil, it is drought-tolerant once established but dislikes heavy or waterlogged conditions. Ideal for feature planting, native garden beds, or mixed shrub borders where delicate colour and soft texture are desired.
