Variable species; profuse, usually deep purple pea-flowers in W-Sp. White flowering and pink flowering forms are also available. Foliage is usually concentrated at the top of this climber. Can be used to trail down embankments if no support is available. Easily grown in difficult dry soils.
Hardenbergia violacea naturally occurs in woodlands and forest margins across southeastern Australia, thriving in well-drained soils with dappled shade to full sun positions.
