Description
Compact, dense, low-growing shrub with fine, aromatic, light-green foliage and slender branches. Produces dense clusters of mauve to deep purple, claw-like flowers mainly from spring to summer, with flowering extending into other seasons in favourable conditions. Initially prostrate, developing a rounded habit with age. Responds well to pruning, which maintains density and promotes flowering wood. Suited to full sun or part shade and moist, well-drained soils; tolerates periodically wet conditions.

Habitat
Habitat: Occurs from south-eastern Queensland through coastal and subcoastal New South Wales, in heathland, shrubland and open woodland, commonly on sandy or light soils in sites that may be seasonally wet.
