Guinea Flower is a hardy, prostrate shrub that forms a dense groundcover of fine green foliage. Masses of small yellow flowers appear mainly in spring and summer, with occasional flowering throughout the year, attracting native bees and butterflies. Once established, it is highly adaptable, thriving in well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Tolerant of drought, frost, and coastal conditions, it is ideal for rockeries, borders, raised beds, containers, and low-maintenance groundcover plantings.
Hibbertia pedunculata occurs naturally in New South Wales, eastern Victoria and south-east Queensland, where it grows in well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It is well adapted to a range of temperate and subtropical environments.
