Bush Buddy Workshop – Newspaper Pot & Yam Daisy Seed

$37.00

DESCRIPTION

Children will learn about the Yam Daisy, an important Australian native plant and traditional bush food, before making a biodegradable newspaper pot and planting their own seed.
A hands-on workshop combining gardening, culture and care, with a planted pot to take home and nurture.

Get your hands dirty and have fun with Backyard Botany’s Jessica Moulynox, a qualified ethnobotanist (plant scientist)! In this exciting workshop, you’ll learn how to make your very own biodegradable newspaper pot and plant a Yam Daisy Seed (a special native plant once eaten by Indigenous peoples as an important bush food). Discover how the Yam Daisy grows, what it looks like under a microscope, and why it’s such an important part of Australia’s natural history. You’ll leave with your own planted pot to take home and care for, plus a new appreciation for how plants connect people to their environment. Science meets gardening fun!
