Craftsmanship Process

Our beaker cups undergo a meticulous three-stage firing process. We start by press-molding the clay body and applying a delicate, semi-matte eggshell glaze with light speckles. The inside of each cup is first hand-sprayed with glaze, followed by two careful spray applications on the exterior to achieve a smooth, creamy finish. Artisans then meticulously hand-transfer a screen-printed pattern around the cup. After an initial firing, illustrations and the Poppy & Pepper brand stamp are added, and the cup is fired once more to complete the process.

Design

Our beaker cup is inspired by a teacup and saucer created in 1930s, which had an elevated foot and slightly inward-tilting edge. We wrap the cup with patterns and leave a window to reveal the kangaroo paw illustrations.
