A tan glaze that flows and changes due to the heat of the kiln. The effect is almost watery, creating the river habitat for the platypus. Part of the charm of this collection is that every piece is unique – there are always slight colour variations.

Each Australian animal mug is hand thrown with either clay or porcelain; then hand glazed inside and outside with food-safe glazes. The tiles themselves are created using digital 3D sculpting and printing techniques, then moulded with clay, before being hand mounted to the mug; the tiles are unglazed.

The hand-crafted nature of these mugs means every piece is unique. The glaze, in particular, reacts and settles differently on each mug so please expect variation in detail.
