The Karri Oak has hairy, oak-like pale green leaves and pendent greenish-cream to yellowish flowers in spring to summer. Pink-flowered forms are occasionally available. It responds well to pruning and attracts birds and insect pollinators.
Chorilaena quercifolia occurs naturally as an understory shrub in the Karri forests of south-western Western Australia. It prefers moist, well-drained sandy or loamy soils and thrives in dappled shade or partial sun, tolerating full sun and dry periods once established.
