Eucryphia moorei, also known as plumwood, is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree with a dense, rounded canopy and glossy, dark green, leathery leaves. In late summer to autumn, it bears showy white, cup-shaped flowers with prominent golden stamens, creating a soft, luminous display against the foliage.
Native to cool temperate rainforests of eastern Victoria and southern New South Wales, Eucryphia moorei grows in moist, sheltered sites such as gullies and along waterways. It prefers fertile, well-drained soils with consistent moisture, a cool humid climate, and protection from heat and dry winds.
