Occurs in eastern Australia from southern Queensland throughout New South Wales and through eastern Victoria. Growing in moist woodland, forest margins and along watercourses. It is often found on sandy or rocky soils in areas with reliable moisture, including creek banks and drainage lines. In cultivation it is suited to sunny positions with well-drained soil and benefits from some moisture through extended dry periods.
