Description
Large shrub or tree with a rounded habit, papery bark and narrow, linear grey-green leaves arranged in opposite pairs. Produces dense spikes of white to cream flowers with prominent stamens, mainly from late spring through summer. Flowers are lightly honey-scented. Responds well to pruning after flowering. Suited to full sun or part shade and moist, well-drained soils; tolerates periodically wet conditions but performs poorly when kept dry for extended periods.

Habitat
Occurs along the coastal and subcoastal regions of Queensland and New South Wales, in heathland, dry sclerophyll forest and woodland, commonly beside creeks, swamps and other seasonally wet sites on sandy, sandstone-derived and alluvial soils.
