Thryptomene baeckeacea is a dense, compact shrub growing 0.5–1 metre tall, with narrow aromatic green leaves and masses of pink to purple flowers from late Autumn through Spring. It thrives in well-drained soils and grows best in full sun to part shade. Once established, it is both drought and frost tolerant. A versatile plant ideal for low hedging, borders or as a flowering groundcover, offering long-lasting seasonal colour.
Thryptomene baeckeacea naturally occurs in heathlands and sandy soils of Western Australia, thriving in well-drained acidic soils with Mediterranean climate conditions and good air circulation.
