Eremophila glabra is an extremely variable and adaptable native shrub valued for its hardy nature and long-lasting, bird-attracting flowers. Forms range from low and spreading to compact or upright, with neat silver, grey-green to bright green foliage that provides year-round structure. Tubular flowers appear mainly from spring through autumn in shades of green, yellow, orange or red, bringing colour and reliable nectar for honeyeaters and other wildlife. Tough, drought tolerant and easy to grow, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soils, making it ideal for mixed gardens, embankments, borders and low-maintenance landscapes.
Widespread across arid and semi-arid inland Australia, growing naturally in sandy or clay soils with excellent drainage. Highly adapted to heat, dry conditions and extended drought.
