Eucalyptus pulverulenta ‘Baby Blue’ is a compact, small-growing eucalypt with a dense, spreading habit, often retaining its juvenile foliage into maturity. The rounded leaves are a soft silvery-blue, with a fine powdery bloom that covers the foliage, stems and new growth.
Creamy white flowers appear from late autumn through to spring, followed by woody, cup-shaped capsules.
It is widely grown for its ornamental foliage and neat habit, making it well suited to feature planting, low hedging or use as cut foliage.
A cultivated selection of Eucalyptus pulverulenta, a species native to south-eastern Australia, typically found on slopes and tablelands in well-drained soils.
In the garden, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. It is tolerant of dry conditions once established and is well suited to open positions. Light pruning can be used to maintain a compact shape and encourage fresh juvenile growth.
