Eucryphia wilkiei is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree with a neat, dense canopy and glossy, dark green leaves, typically divided into a few leathery leaflets. It produces an abundance of white, cup-shaped flowers with conspicuous golden stamens in late summer to autumn, creating a delicate, eye-catching display.
Native to cool temperate rainforest areas of northeastern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland, Eucryphia wilkiei grows in moist, sheltered sites such as mountain slopes and protected gullies. It prefers fertile, well-drained soils rich in organic matter, with consistent moisture, high humidity, and protection from heat and dry winds.
