Description
A compact to medium shrub with an upright to spreading habit and small, rounded leaves. The foliage is densely arranged along the branches, giving the plant a fine-textured appearance. Pink to white flowers are produced in spring, with the rounded petals surrounding a prominent cluster of stamens. Flowering can be particularly heavy, covering the branches with colour. A useful shrub for informal hedging, screening or as a feature in mixed plantings. It responds well to pruning after flowering, which can help maintain a compact shape.

Habitat
Leptospermum rotundifolium occurs naturally in south-eastern New South Wales, particularly in coastal and near-coastal areas. It grows in heathland, woodland and open forest, commonly on sandy or rocky soils and in exposed sites. The species is associated with well-drained soils and generally sunny conditions. In cultivation, it is suited to free-draining soils and performs best in an open position with good air circulation.
